Food excellent
The best steak pie, mash and veg with gravy, of course, that we have had anywhere. Sticky toffee pudding and apple pie also good. Good service, clean and tidy.
Disappointing
My daughter and I booked a room during our NC500 trip. To say we were disappointed is an understatement . I had no idea what my room looked like as no images when I booked but it was bunk beds with no toilet nearby . The beds weren’t made up and the bedding smelt fusty. My daughter had some food which she said was nice. The staff were really kind and helpful, but overall would not recommend. We did not stay and booked a fab premier Inn in thurso up the road for basically the same price.
Restful time!
Room was clean and tidy and totally adequate for two elderly ladies! We were warm and comfortable. Supplying my friend with an extra duvet was no bother and staff were very helpful. Food plentiful and good – with a wide choice and varied menu. We were there at a quiet time, but that was no bother to them.
Close to john o grots
100yards from the sign at j o ggreat for visit to the stacks and ideal after a long journeyevening food and breakfast available and both good .Remember that jog has little to do so dont think your spent long there .Ideal for NC 500.
Tired but comfy
While the facilities are a little dated, this was a warm and comfortable place to stay.A very nice evening meal, and a large filling breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Excellent
Brilliant room, great location! Would recommend
Nice pleasant stay
Stopped overnight as part of our journey on the North Coast 500.Lovely and clean hotel and food was fine. Well situated and good views.
Welcoming and good value for money
Parking was very easy, reception were very clear and helpful about the service options available during the trip for food with good communication and consistency around dietary requirements. Very friendly and the pub part is a great environment. Good value for money. On the down, a little out in the sticks to get more central on foot (common in many venues) and the rooms not being en suite wouldn’t be a big problem, though with covid am not sure a cloth hand towel rather than paper ones, and shared bathtub is the safest. Everything else was great though
Lovely Stay
Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant, very reasonable price and close to Gills ferry. Will definitely stay again. Thank you.
Good value for a one night stay
The room was nice and clean. We took the ferry from Gills to Orkney in the morning! Only downside was that we got a room in the building on the other side of the road and were unable to get the WiFi from our room.
